The Brief

The Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) selected space in the redevelopment of Salisbury Square within the historic Square Mile. They required a brand new court room and offices with a focus on high quality joinery I.T. audio-visual and acoustics. CAT occupied the 7th floor of the 10-storey building which has views of St Paul's Cathedral , making it a prime location that has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating for sustainability.

The Outcome

Stanway took on the overall design responsibility from RIBA Stage 3, integrating ourselves as part of the professional team, working alongside Carter Jonas, Will+Partners, Taylor Project Services LLP, & Magnus Opifex. Salisbury Sq House is a BREEAM Excellent building, with the new space on the 7th floor providing panoramic views across the City. The high ceilings are perfect for the public court rooms and offices, with bespoke joinery a key feature throughout to accommodate the vast libraries of journals. Implementation of I.T. & audio-visual services with a smarter way of working future-proofs the space for the next generation.
